Meet Bernice Torbit, the dedicated Vice President of Community Engagement for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Student Arts Foundation. A proud Rochester native, Bernice has firsthand experience of the transformative power of the arts within the local community. Her time at the School of the Arts greatly influenced her both artistically and culturally, and she enjoys sharing that impact with others.

Bernice holds a B.S. in International Business from the State University of New York at Buffalo and an M.S. in Strategic Leadership from Roberts Wesleyan College. Her passion for serving others is evident through her extensive involvement in the community and her career in social services. Currently, she serves as a Human Resources Specialist at the NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, bringing over a decade of experience in various roles, including Domestic Violence Liaison and Senior Examiner, at the Monroe County social services district.

In her role at the Student Arts Foundation, Bernice leverages her background in human resources and social services to foster an inclusive and supportive environment for underrepresented youth. She is committed to breaking down barriers and ensuring that every young person has the opportunity to thrive through artistic expression. Join Bernice and the Student Arts Foundation in their mission to create a more equitable and vibrant arts community in Rochester!
